Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor as well as crime reporter for WCBD TV. O'Dell's reportage on the streets of Charleston regarding the leniency of police officers towards DUI cases led to being the State Law Enforcement Division investigating these incidents.
